Fees and Subsidies

Our educators are self-employed therefore they are free to set their own rates. This means your feescan be negotiated directly with the educator. These rates will vary depending on the experience and qualifications of the educator and your requirements. Most educators who are caring for children in their own home will charge between $5 – $10 per hour, per child. Our educators can also care for your child in your home. For this, educators can charge anywhere between the legal minimum wage up to $25 an hour.
Children in home-based care are also eligible for the government funded 20 ECE hours for three and four year olds. This is for up to 6hrs a day, 20hrs a week.
We offer a payroll service where parents pay Home2Grow Childcare and we pay educators, deducting PAYE etc where appropriate. Using this service also ensures parents and educators can access records of payments and income.

Work and Income also offer an income tested childcare subsidy for a maximum of 50 hours a week. Eligible families can use the subsidy towards payment of care fees, through Home2Grow Childcare. Low income parents who are not working may still be entitled to a 9 hour childcare subsidy. All WINZ payments depend on the family income and other factors that need to be discussed with WINZ directly.
